Desk Assistants must have a high degree of integrity and display continuous commitment toward customer service and the Desk Assistant position. The ability to interact with a variety of student, faculty, and staff personalities requires patience, the use of initiative, and the ability to think quickly. An average shift includes greeting students, staff, and guests, being a resource for anyone visiting the reception desk, as well as assisting with emergency procedures.

The current compensation starting rate is $14 per hour. The University follows the State of Florida minimum wage guidelines, and effective in September, minimum wage is scheduled to increase to $15 per hour.
